The United Methodist Women's group at the Brooklet United Methodist Church has been around for over 110 years, and is still going strong. There are three different meetings every month: the Lydia and Keturah circles meet every second Monday of the month (at 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. respectively) and the Susannah Wesley circle meets every third Monday at 7 p.m.
According to Sandra Williams, Brooklet UMW President, our UMW members are a dedicated group of Christian women who have learned how to have fun while enriching their faith.
There are no real requirements in this low-pressure but tightly-knit organization: any interested woman is more than welcome to come visit the UMW groups at BUMC during their monthly meetings to see what our members do. In addition to participating in their annual home-made Peanut Brittle Sale held at the Peanut Festival ground during the Brooklet Peanut Festival, there are many other UMW activities which women of all ages can get involved with at the church to assist missions not only around the world, but to help out at home as well, through activities such as putting together fruit baskets or knitting prayer shawls for sick or infirm church members.
